Treatment of Insomnia in Patients with Parkinson's Disease
Objective:To use repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)to treat insomnia in patients with Parkinson's disease, and observe its clinical effect and safety.Methods:60 patients with insomnia of Parkinson's disease were selected and divided into control treatment group(n=32 cases)and study treatment group(n=28 cases)by random number table method. The control treatment group was treated with the usual drug regimen for insomnia. In the study treatment group, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy was used in addition to conventional drug therapy for insomnia. The clinical treatment effect, sleep quality and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.39,P<0.05).The scores of sleep quality evaluation at night, difficulty in maintaining sleep, tremor when waking up,and feeling sleepy after waking up in the morning were higher in the study group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=1.812,1.935,1.812,1.602;P<0.05).No adverse events related to rTMS were reported in either group. Conclusion:The adjuvant application of rTMS therapy can improve the sleep quality of PD patients, increase their sleep time, and improve their clinical treatment effect, with no obvious adverse reactions. So their quality of life is improved.
