Study on the Correlation Between Symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Related Pharyngolaryngeal Reflux and Helicobacter Pylori Infection
Objective:To explore the correlation between symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)related pharyngolaryngeal reflux and Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection. Methods:A total of 180 patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease(including 80 patients in GERD related pharyngolaryngeal reflux symptoms group and 100 patients in GERD simple group)who were hospitalized and outpatient in the Department of Gastroenterology from July 2021 to March 2023 were collected. Both groups of patients underwent Hp testing and filled out the Reflux Symptom Index(RSI).Statistical analysis was conducted on Helicobacter pylori infection and RSI scores. Results:The positive detection rate of Hp in the GERD related pharyngolaryngeal reflux symptom group was significantly higher than that in the simple GERD group, with statistically significant difference(x2=11.357,P<0.01).RSI score of patients with Hp infection in the GERD related pharyngeal reflux symptom group was higher than that of those without Hp infection, and the difference was statistically significant(t=2.354,P<0.05).There is significant correlation between Hp infection and RSI score Eta in the GERD related pharyngeal reflux symptom group(Eta=0.258,P<0.05).Conclusion:There is significant correlation between the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease related pharyngeal reflux and Helicobacter pylori infection, and Helicobacter pylori infection may exacerbate the symptoms of pharyngeal reflux.
