Objective:To explore the application effect of multidisciplinary comprehensive diagnosis and treatment(MDT)mode in elderly patients with gastrointestinal perforation complicated with septic shock. Methods:A total of 62 elderly patients with gastrointestinal perforation complicated with septic shock admitted to our hospital from December 2019 to December 2023 were randomly divided into two groups,31 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, including the use of va-soactive drugs, mechanical ventilation, blood purification treatment, etc.,while the observation group received MDT mode for diagnosis and treatment on the basis of the control group.Participants in MDT discussions included personnel with intermediate titles or above, such as general surgery,ICU,medical department, infection department, and laboratory department. The days of vasoactive drug use, consultation times,ICU length of stay, complications, and prognosis of the two groups were compared. Results:The use time of vasoactive drugs in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the number of consultations was less than that in the control group, and the length of ICU stay was shorter than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was sta-tistically significant(P<0.05);The improvement rate of prognosis in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of MDT mode in elderly patients with gastrointestinal perforation complicated with septic shock has less consultation times, which can improve the clinical efficacy, shorten the use time of vasoactive drugs and the length of ICU stay, reduce the occurrence of complications, and improve the prognosis of pa-tients.
