Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of POH1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC)and its role in the proliferation of cancer cells. Methods:In this study,immunohistochemistry,qRT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expression of POH1 in PTC and paracancer tissues, and the relationship between POH1 expression and clinicopathological parameters of PTC patients was analyzed.MTT and CCK8 techniques were used to detect the effect of SiRNA knockdown POH1 on the proliferation of PTC cells.Results:POH1 expression was not correlated with sex, age, tumor number and lymph node metastasis of PTC patients(P>0.05),but was correlated with T stage(P<0.05).POH1 is highly expressed in PTC tissues, but low or even no expression in paracancer tissues. The proliferative activity of Si-POH1 cells was significantly lower than that of Si-NC cells after transfection for 24h and 48h.Conclusion:POH1 can promote the proliferation of PTC cells and is expected to be a molecular marker for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation of PTC.
