Objective:Clinical study on surgical treatment of multiple rib fractures and flail chest with nickel titanium memory alloy embracing fixator. Methods:Sixty patients with multiple rib fractures and flail chest were selected as the study subjects from April 2021 to April 2023.They were randomly divided into a control group and a study group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received conservative treatment, while the study group received nickel titanium memory alloy embracing fixator surgery. The pain level, length of hospital stay, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups of patients. Results:There was no significant difference in visual analogue scale(VAS)between the two groups at 24 hours after surgery(P>0.05),while the observation group had lower VAS scores at 48 hours and 72 hours after surgery compared to the control group(P<0.05).The amount of painkillers used, length of hospital stay, and duration of ventilator use in the study group were all lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Con-clusion:For patients with multiple rib fractures and flail chest, the use of nickel titanium memory alloy embracing fixators for surgery can alleviate postoperative pain, reduce the amount of painkillers used, shorten the treatment cycle, and thereby reduce the risk of postoperative complications. It is worth promoting.
