Fractal Design of Chaoshan Drawing Decorative Pattern Based on Julia Set
Fractals exist in the micro of natural environment and are often used in agriculture to analyze soil characteristics and crop structure.Because of its natural characteristics,fractal patterns are artistic while explaining natural structures,and are compatible with traditional plant patterns.Crop is the main subject of Chaoshan drawing pattern.This paper proposes a fractal design model of Chaoshan drawing plant decorative pattern based on Julia set,in an attempt to better realize the digitizing of Chaoshan drawing,provide fractal pattern design that is in line with the current aesthetic,and alleviate the situation that after the impact of industrialization in the 1990s,drawing practitioners have been declining and lacking of pattern designers.By classifying grape,wheat,flower and other patterns and calculating fractal dimension,the fractal characteristics of Chaoshan drawn-plant patterns were summarized,and fractal art software UF6 was applied to complete fractal pattern design,which was combined with traditional Chaoshan drawn-plant patterns according to category and shape.Finally,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the output results of the model for young people to verify the feasibility of introducing fractal into Chaoshan drawing from the perspectives of nationality,innovation,artistry and fondness,and intangible cultural heritage workers were invited to make evaluations from the perspective of production.The results show that Chaoshan drawing can be expanded into new pattern materials through fractal design,and young people hope that Chaoshan drawing can be integrated into daily products in the form of local decoration.In terms of production,the complexity of fractal patterns is considered or simplified according to the different needs of textiles and printing,so as to provide a reference for the innovative design of embroidery fabric patterns and show the artistry of fractal through agriculture.
