Light and shadow are one of the effective elements in spatial design.By mastering the functions and artistic effects of light and shadow in space,it is possible to create a vibrant public space in ancient villages.The article discusses the functions and artistic effects of light and shadow in public spaces in ancient villages.Combining with the current situation and characteristics of public spaces in representative ancient villages in Guangzhou,taking Pantang Ancient Village as an example,it analyzes the role of light and shadow in the revitalization of ancient buildings and rural modernization,and explores various operational strategies,feasibility,and utilization value of light and shadow art intervention in public spaces in different ancient villages.
