Material Autoethnographic Design Research Based on Trans-corporeality
Patients with environmental illness are more sensitive to the environment than people without environmental illness, which is manifested in the fact that the body is prone to real reactions to substances in the environment, such as allergic reactions.Allergenic substances in the environment"intra-action"with the patient's body and leave traces, manifesting the"trans-corporeality"relationship between the patient and the environment. This study invites an eczema patient to participate in the autoethnographic practice through design. It adopts a material life probe package designed based on trans-corporeality and lets the participant record"material autoethnography"through writing, taking photos, and other methods. While encouraging participants to develop thinking and recording beyond the"template"and, ultimately, through the kit, gradually forming a visual device in the dialogue with the participant, helping to understand the material connection between oneself and the environment while enriching autoethnography presentation form.
