The academia have rich research results on the pattern design of Chinese stamps,but there is little research on the formal aesthetics of stamps,which is mainly based on the shape structure.From this perspective,the paper discusses how the forms of edge paper and coupon evolved from independent elements to the whole aesthetic taste of stamps in the historical development process of Chinese stamps,until becoming"a meaningful form".The development and evolution of the formal design of Chinese stamps has always been based on the national cultural soil and aesthetic tradition,and reflects the design form and the combination of local culture.
