A Study on the Poetic"Map-Base"in Traditional Folk Houses in Jiangnan:Taking the Waterscape Courtyard Space of Ancient Folk Houses in Hongcun as an Example
In the architectural context of traditional houses in the south of the Yangtze River, the poetic Map-Base relationship constitutes its unique spatial narrative and visual aesthetics.Taking the waterscape courtyard space of Hongcun ancient dwellings as a case study, this paper discusses and explains the composing mechanism and expression technique of this poetic spatial relationship in Jiangnan traditional dwellings.By using synchronic and diachronic visual perception analysis methods, this study reveals the complexity of the static and dynamic relationship and the spatio-temporal transformation in the spatial image of Hongcun waterscape courtyard. The results show that the spatial image of Hongcun ancient houses not only reflects the essence of traditional Chinese culture, but also profoundly reflects the influence of Taoist thought on spatial layout and form.An in-depth study of the Map-Base relationship, the research results have important theoretical and practical value for enlightening modern landscape and architectural design, and provide a solid theoretical basis for protecting and inheriting Chinese traditional culture.
