Analysis of the Thought of Praying for Longevity and Pursuing Good Fortune in the"Longevity Embroidery"Unearthed from Mawangdui Han Tomb
Since 1972,the excavation of the No.1 Han Tomb in Mawangdui has provided a large number of well-preserved silk fabrics of the Han Dynasty,which provides important data for the study of ancient silk fabrics.Longevity embroidery is one of the many kinds of silk fabrics unearthed in Mawangdui Han Tomb.Its unit pattern is relatively large and embroidered with a variety of patterns,including vine pattern,fringe moire pattern,flower leaf pattern,phoenix bird pattern,dragon head pattern,etc.The longevity embroidery composed of these patterns reflects the yearning and pursuit of ancient people to pray for Longevity and pursuing good fortune.Through the analysis of longevity embroidery and its composition patterns,the author interprets the thought of praying for Longevity and pursuing good fortune,and analyzes its emergence and spread from the perspectives of agriculture,politics and religious myths.
