Against the dual backdrop of rural revitalization and cultural heritage preservation, the adaptive renewal of traditional dwellings for the new era has become a critical task in balancing cultural inheritance with contemporary needs. This paper takes the traditional dwellings of Niutiguan Village in Anshun,Guizhou Province,as its research subject, focusing on the characteristics of their interior spatial configuration and methods of transformation in the new era.The study aims to investigate the current status, challenges, and transformation pathways of regional traditional dwellings within the contemporary context, and to predict future development trends.Through field surveys and mapping techniques, the research analyzes the interior spatial organization logic of Anshun's traditional dwellings, revealing its connection to the regional environment, production, and daily life. The study finds that the interior space of dwellings in Niutiguan Village is hierarchically structured around the"Tangwu(Main Hall)—Tianlou(Upper Loft)"as its spiritual core. Its stone-and-wood composite structure, adapted to the Karst topography, embodies an organic fusion of ecological wisdom and cultural symbolism. In the process of converting these dwellings into guesthouses(B&Bs),the traditional residential-centric mindset faces challenges related to the adaptability of production and living, the failure of cultural spatial logic, and the adaptability of the spatial environment. The paper explores transformation strategies from three dimensions:the flexible adaptation of spatial functions, the creation of cultural memory and a sense of place, and the continuation and regeneration of ecological wisdom. It concludes by presenting a future vision for the symbiotic value of tradition and the new era.
