Macbeth and Lady Macbeth:A Shakespeare's Dramatic Text with Clear Stage Consciousness
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is one of the earliest published translations of Macbeth in the history of Shakespeare studies in China.Zhang Wenliang emphasized that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is different from the traditional"Shakespeare tragedy"in the past.It not only portrays the"equality"and"love"between husband and wife under modern consciousness,but also is a"romantic tragedy"with strong emotions.Unlike other translations before and after,Macbeth and Lady Macbeth highlights the stage nature of the script,adding a large number of"annotations"indicating actions,sounds,emotions,and psychological activities,including introductions and comments on famous actors'performances,and thus emphasizing the stage characteris-tics of the play.
