The Hotspots and Prospects of Higher Education Research in China in the 21st Century:Based on CSSCI Data Analysis
China's higher education has developed vigorously since the 21st century,and has built the world's largest higher educa-tion system now.Higher education research has continued to become a research highlight in the academic community in China.This paper takes the higher education papers published in CSSCI journals from 2000 to 2023 as the research object,and makes quantitative and qualitative analysis from the dimensions of research institutions,research topics,research highlight,hot spot evolution and so on.It is found that fruitful results are gathered in the field of higher education,with a stable core author group and research team of strong scientific research strength behind;there are nine themes called higher education popularization,graduate education,higher vocational education,higher education quality,university governance,higher education equity,"double first-class"construction,higher education internationalization,and online higher education which have come to the fore continuously.Higher education research should further enrich the theoretical system of Chinese-style Higher Education Mod-ernization,pay attention to solving major theoretical and practical problems in the development of the times,take history as a mirror to promote the development,strengthen forward-looking research to enhance the international competitiveness,enrich research methods and strengthen interdisciplinary integration and research cooperation.
