Analysis of Trade Dependence between China and GCC Countries and Its Influencing Factors
The degree of trade dependence between China and the GCC has been deepening, but shows obvious asymmetry:the GCC countries'trade dependence on China is relatively fragile, with the highest dependence on China's primary product market.Through further analysis,it has been found that the rise in oil prices has no noticeable effect on China's exports, while the rise of the RMB exchange rate that promotes China's import of goods from GCC countries,in turn, weakens China's competitive-ness in its export products;China's accession to the World Trade Organization and the joint construction of"the Belt and Road"have a significant positive impact on bilateral trade; The improvement of government efficiency has a remarkable promo-ting effect on bilateral trade. Therefore, measures such as promoting trade interdependence between China and the GCC contin-ues,achieving diversified trade development, promoting RMB settlement of petroleum, and reducing the negative impact of ex-change rate fluctuations are of great importance.
