The field of editorial and publishing studies in China in 2023 is marked by a dynamic blend of prosperity and concern.This study analyzes 1,050 research papers from 7 influential CSSCI journals in the CNKI database,revealing a research landscape in 2023 characterized by teams centered around core authors and research institutions primarily involving leading universities and research bodies.The research hotspots include areas like"digital publishing,""artificial intelligence,""international communi-cation,""thematic publishing,"and"converged publishing."Dominant trends are identified in media convergence and digital publishing research symbolized by artificial intelligence technology in all-people reading and external communication research led by thematic publishing,and in high-quality development research in the publishing industry represented by academic jour-nals.Future research should follow Xi Jinping's publishing culture thoughts,focusing on the theoretical and practical aspects of artificial intelligence technology and the development of an autonomous knowledge system with Chinese characteristics in publishing studies.
