A Development Report of the Quality of China's Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Journals based on a Five-dimension Mod-el of Evaluation
Academic journals should be of high quality in social leadership, academic rigor,author-friendliness,reader-friendliness,and digital adaptability. These"five characteristics"are the five basic dimensions for evaluating the quality of academic jour-nals.Each of them reflects the quality of academic journals from different aspects. In order to fully reflect the quality of aca-demic journals,it is necessary to evaluate them from five dimensions at the same time, all of which are indispensable. At the same time, the five evaluation dimensions of academic journals are also closely related to each other. The theoretical framework of these five dimensions of evaluation can be transformed into a questionnaire framework. Therefore a digital survey of 296 hu-manities and social sciences scholars was conducted by using a questionnaire designed based on a five-dimensional model. The results show that the scholars who participated in the questionnaire did not highly score the overall impression and evaluation of China's humanities and social sciences academic journals, and only reached the minimum-qualified level. In particular, the av-erage score of the author-friendliness dimension is only 52.51.In this case,in order to promote the sustainable and high-quality development of academic journals in the humanities and social sciences in China,we should work together to comprehensively improve the overall evaluation impression of academic journals in the humanities and social sciences, vigorously strengthen the capacity building of academic journals in terms of ethical leadership and social-responsibility leadership, and make a lot of ef-forts in academic positioning and academic innovation, not only to improve the digital adaptability of academic journals but also to avoid excessive pursuit of traffic, and not to forget the original intention of academic journals to serve authors and readers.
