The Exchanges and Mutual Learning of Returned Students With Modern Chinese and Western Aesthetics in the early 20th Century
The overseas students'group has played a special and important role in the cultural exchange and mutual learning of civili-zations between China and foreign countries in modern times.The emergence and development of modern Chinese aesthetics are closely related to the efforts of the overseas students.Since the early 20th century,Chinese students studying abroad have grad-ually replaced western missionaries as the leading force in the dissemination of foreign aesthetics,promoting the widespread dissemination of various theories such as German classical philosophical aesthetics in China.They not only borrowed foreign aesthetic concepts but also dedicated themselves to excavating and sorting out traditional Chinese aesthetic resources.Through in-depth research and translation work,they significantly influenced the formation and evolution of modern Chinese aesthetics.The efforts of these students promoted cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and the West,as well as the Sini-cization and localization of Marxist aesthetics.At the same time,it stood for their dream of"Chinese people pursuing national rejuvenation".
