Impact of Physical Fitness on Academic Performance among College Students
Physical fitness is an important support for the overall development of college students.Based on survey data of 1 004 students from University A in Fujian Province,used independent sample T-test,one-way ANOVA test,Pearson correlation analysis,and multiple linear regression analysis to examine the relationship between physi-cal fitness and academic performance among college students.It found that the academic performance of college students was better than their physical fitness performance,and they showed a"female strength and male weakness"phenomenon in both academic and physical fitness performance.There was a marginal significant difference in aca-demic performance among different grades of college students.There was a significant difference in physical fitness among different grades of college students,showing a trend of declining physical fitness levels with increasing grade.Physical fitness was positively correlated with academic performance among college students.The regression model had statistical significance,indicating that physical fitness had a positive predictive effect on academic per-formance.It can be seen that physical fitness has a positive impact on academic performance among college students.Based on this,micro(students),meso(universities),and macro(national)level strategies and sug-gestions are proposed,such as self-leadership,field habits,and institutional norms,to promote the healthy develop-ment of college students.
