In May 1942,Mao Zedong held the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art,at which he made a speech entitled Speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art.Mao Zedong stressed that"a question for the masses and a question of how to be for the masses"is the central issue of literature and art,clarified that"understanding people and getting familiar with people"is the"first job"of literature and art and proposed that the life of the people is the"only source"of literature and art.These standpoints,principles and methods of literature and art have realized the Sinicization of Marxist literature and art theory.A new journey in the new era,to study and research Mao Zedong's meaningful significance in the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art,to carry out creative transformation and innovative development of his literature and art theory,will help to better understand Xi Jinping's cultural thoughts,and unswervingly promote the new development of literature and art theory in the new era.
