The digital economy is an important driving force for China's high-quality economic development in the new era,and provides an important guarantee for the development of the real economy.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021,this paper studies the impact and mechanism of digital economy on the real economy based on the theoretical analysis.The research shows that the digital economy has a significant role in promoting the development of the real economy,and this conclusion is still valid after a series of robustness tests;industrial structure upgrading and technological innovation play a partial intermediary role,which is an important channels for digital economy to promote the development of real economy;further research shows that the impact of digital economy on real economy is heterogeneous at different levels of economic development.Therefore,we should help digital industrialization and industrial digitalization,promote the upgrading of industrial structure,implement differentiated development strategies,and better play the positive role of the digital economy in empowering the real economy.
