Impact of Accessibility of Compulsory Educationon Migrant Workers'Residency Intention
Based on the data of China Migrants Dynamic Survey in 2017,combined with the characteris-tic data of cities at prefecture level and above,this paper studies the influence of the accessibility of com-pulsory education on migrant workers'willingness to stay,taking the accompanying children in compulso-ry education as a proxy variable.It is found that the accessibility of compulsory education promotes sig-nificantly the willingness of migrant workers to stay;Social integration is an important mechanism that the accessibility of compulsory education affects the willingness of migrant workers to stay;The accessibility of compulsory education has a greater impact on migrant workers'willingness to stay,especially among those with children at primary school,low academic qualifications and inter-provincial mobility;In com-parison to megacities and small-to-medium-sized cities,the accessibility of compulsory education has a more obvious impact on migrant workers living in big cities.
