Theoretical Interpretation and Empirical Analysis of the Impact of Citi-zenization of Migrant Workers on Urban RuralIntegration Development
Taking the citizenization of migrant workers and urban-rural integration development into a unified analytical framework, based on an evaluation index system for the process of urban-rural integra-tion development and the calculation of migrant worker urban integration wages to measure the degree of migrant worker citizenization,a two-way fixed effects model is constructed, using provincial-level panel data from 2009 to 2021 to empirically test the impact of migrant worker citizenization on urban-rural inte-gration development. The research show that promoting the citizenization of migrant workers can signifi-cantly promote urban-rural integration and development. From a regional perspective, the role of citizeni-zation of migrant workers in promoting urban-rural integration and development is more evident in the central and western regions.Promoting the citizenization of migrant workers through accelerating agricul-tural modernization, rural modernization, promoting equalization of basic public services, and improving the quality of new urbanization, among other channels, promotes the integration of urban and rural devel-opment.
