Genetic Evolution of Main Agronomic Traits in Dryland Wheat Varieties from Henan Province During 1982-2010
Dryland wheat from the regional test in Henan province with 271 testing points/times during 1982-2010 was used to analyze the evolution characteristics of main agronomic traits in dryland wheat varieties of Henan province. The results showed that, with the progress of year varieties released, the growth period shortened gradually, the plant height and the highest populations decreased gradually, the yield, grain number per ear and grain weight increased gradually, while the ear number per acre changed little, among which the grain number contributed the greatest to yield. The results suggested that the increase of grain yield for dryland wheat varieties during 1982-2010 was realized by improving the grain number per ear and the 1 000-seed weight on the basis of ensuring a certain spikes per unit area.
