The abundance of seed storage proteins is an important field in the study of seed protein pro-teomics. It is important to understand the relationship of protein abundance with the evolution and struc-ture of seeds,as well as the molecular mechanism of germination. The study of seed storage protein abun-dance could be applied in the molecular genetic improvement of germplasm,and the seed could be taken as the excellent platform for production of transgenic products. The researches of seed storage protein abundance during the germination and development of different types of seeds were summarized,and the preparation method of seed storage protein samples was introduced.
