The Frontier Trends and References in Formative Assessment
In order to deepen the reform of education assessment,the formative assessment literature research was studied.The connotation of formative assessment has the following new developments:Formative assessment is a complete process integrated into teaching and learning,emphasizing the acquisition of evidence reflecting student learning and interpretation aimed at improvement,closely integrated with self-regulated learning,and integrated with the systematic development of learning progression and focus on discipline specificity.The frontier research on the three key strategies of feedback,self-assessment and peer assessment provides a principled and actionable reference for improvement of teaching and learning.The new trends of the research include:mainly serving the curriculum standards in the standardization movement,providing a strategic framework for differentiated classroom assess-ment,and paying attention to the assessment spirit such as fairness and respect.In order to solve the practical problems in teaching and learning,considering the new development of connotation,the new progress of strategy and the new trend of research,there are three aspects of inspiration and reference:Formative assessment has sufficient learning theory support,it originated from improved summative assessment,but it is still a goal evaluation model,it needs to avoid the solidification of results and rigid process.In instructional design,the assessment of objectives should be clearly defined,the means of eliciting evidence should be presupposed,and the feedback of teacher should be optimized.The paper sets up special reform projects related to formative assessment and optimizing education mode,to realize the integration of ideas,technology and cultural environment,and to improve the comprehensive quality evaluation of students.
