Research on the Impact of Advanced Human Capital Structure on Urban-rural Income Gap in the Context of Common Prosperity——Empirical Testing Based on Panel Data of Prefecture-Level Cities
Narrowing urban-rural income gap is crucial for the comprehensive realization of common prosperity.Based on the perspective of human capital quality and the Panel data of 201 Prefecture-level city in China from 2005 to 2019,this paper empirically tests the effect and mechanism of advanced human capital structure on urban-rural income gap.The results have showed that advanced human capital structure can narrow urban-rural income gap,and this conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests;advanced human capital structure reduces urban-rural income gap through industrial structure upgrading and technological innovation mechanisms;advanced human capital structure promotes urbanization,but urbanization has a masking effect on advanced human capital structure to narrow urban-rural gap,increasing government fiscal expenditure can narrow urban-rural income gap,and government fiscal expenditure has a positive adjustment between advanced human capital structure and urban-rural income gap.In the context of talent as the primary resource,using industrial structure upgrading,technological innovation,and urbanization as carriers,we will improve the allocation mechanism of human capital between ur-ban and rural areas,optimize government fiscal expenditure,fully unleash the resource allocation and production efficiency im-provement effects of advanced human capital structure,to narrow urban-rural income gap,and promote to common prosperity.
