Research on Connection Effect and Paths of Economic Dual Circulation Promoted by Cross-border E-Commerce
Drawing on the 31 provincial panel data of China from 2008 to 2020,this paper constructs evaluation index system of economic dual circulation. The coupling coordination degree model is used to measure the connection effect of economic dual circula-tion,and the impact paths of cross-border e-commerce on the connection effect of economic dual circulation are empirically studied on the basis of spatial-temporal evolution analysis. It is found that the development of cross-border e-commerce has a significant positive effect on the dual circulation linkage in general, and the conclusion still holds after a series of robust tests such as replacing core ex-planatory variables, replacing research models, and adopting instrumental variables. The regional heterogeneity regression results show that the driving effect of cross-border e-commerce on the connection effect of economic dual circulation is the strongest in the central region and the weakest in the western region, and the impact on the eastern region and northeast region is positive but fails to pass the significance test. The mechanism test shows that cross-border e-commerce can reduce transaction costs and promote the matching of supply and demand to drive the effective connection of economic dual circulation. In order to accelerate the development of cross-border e-commerce and better play its role in promoting the connection and coordinated development of internal and external economic circula-tions,we put forward corresponding suggestions focusing on infrastructure construction, industrial transformation and internal and exter-nal linkage.
