Research on the Impact of Digital Economy on Industrial Chain Resilience
Enhancing industrial chain resilience is an essential measure for adapting to changes in the global situation, promoting Chinese new industrialization, and constructing a robust material foundation for achieving Chinese path to modernization.Drawing on panel data from 31 provinces in China spanning from 2011 to 2021,this study constructs an index system from four dimensions:resili-ence,recovery,sustainability and innovation.Using the entropy weight TOPSIS method, the paper calculates industrial chain resili-ence.Subsequently,fixed-effects models and mediation effect models are employed to examine the impact of digital economy on indus-trial chain resilience. The results indicate that digital economy can significantly enhance industrial chain resilience. However, there are regional differences, with digital economy significantly promoting the resilience of industrial chains in eastern and western regions, while its impact in the central region is not significant.Mechanism analysis reveals that digital economy exerts a promoting effect on in-dustrial chain resilience by driving marketization process and increasing employment scale of labor force.Under the conditions of high marketization level and large scale of labor employment, the marginal effect of digital economy to improve industrial chain resilience is increasing. To better leverage the promoting effect of digital economy on industrial chain resilience,it is essential to increase investment in various technology research and development, achieve independent control of key core technologies, enhance industrial base capabil-ities,and promote regional coordinated development, among other measures.
