Digital Finance,Digital Divide and Urban-Rural Income Gap—Based on the Interactive Effects of Digital Finance and Traditional Finance
Digital finance has the convergence effect of urban-rural income gap,but the accompanying digital divide will have the opposite effect.Based on the perspective of the interaction between digital finance and traditional finance, this paper uses two-way fixed effect, interactive effect and threshold effect models to analyze the impact of digital finance and digital divide on urban-rural income gap.The results show that the digital divide weakens or even dissimilates the convergence effect of the urban-rural income gap of digital finance, and the relationship between the two shows a positive U-shaped feature, which is mainly reflected in the coverage breadth, while the depth of use and the degree of digitization will expand the urban-rural income gap.The eastern region is in the range of digital finance to narrow the urban-rural income gap, while the central and western regions are in the stage of digital finance to widen the ur-ban-rural income gap.Traditional finance strengthens the U-shaped relationship of digital finance on the urban-rural income gap,but it will be affected by the digital divide. When the digital divide exceeds the threshold of 4.800,the positive synergy effect will turn into a negative inhibition effect. Therefore, accelerating the breadth and depth of digital finance development, promoting the digital transfor-mation of traditional finance, implementing rural digital education, and solving the digital divide are the focus of policy implementation.
