Quantitative evaluation of fault-controls on hydrocarbon accumulation of Paleogene strata:a case study of Lufeng 13 subsag in Pearl River Mouth Basin
There are many and complex faults in Paleogene strata,Lufeng 13 subsag. The oil enrichment degree in different fault blocks varies greatly.Quantitative research on the fault-controlled reservoir and the relationship between faults and oil enrichment is beneficial for future oil exploration in the study area. The fault-controls was comprehensively analyzed and quantified from three aspects:oil supply, transport and charging capacities. The coupling coefficient of fault-controlled reservoir was established. The cou-pling coefficient has a good linear relationship with the reserves abundance, which accords with the actual geological law.Under the guidance of quantitative evaluation,a medium-sized oil field(C-9)has been discovered. This method can predict the favorable areas and provide guidance for Paleogene strata with rich hydrocarbon generation.
