Sedimentary facies characteristics and evolution of the second member of Shaximiao Formation in Wubaochang area, northeast Sichuan Basin
In order to clarify sedimentary facies and evolution of the second member of Shaximiao Formation(Sha2 Member)in Wubaochang area of the northeaster Sichuan Basin, based on core, well logging and seismic data, the sedimentary facies types and reservoir distribution of Shaximiao Formation in Wubaochang area were determined, the sedimentary boundaries between subfacies were clarified, and then the sedimen-tary evolution process was analyzed. The results show that the meander river delta sediments were developed Sha2 Member in Wubaochang area.During the sedimentary period of the Sha21,the delta front deposit mainly developed, and the pre-delta deposit can be seen in the Huanglongchang well area in the south.During the deposition period of Sha22,delta plain deposits appeared in the north, delta front deposits were the main ones in the south, and pre-delta deposits could be seen locally in Huanglongchang well area.During the deposition period of Sha23,the delta plain deposits were widely developed, and the delta front deposits were mainly in the southern Huanglongchang well area.Among them,paleo-climate,tectonic ac-tivity and paleo-geography jointly control the planar distribution and sedimentary evolution of Sha2 member of the Middle Jurassic in Wubaochang area, northeast Sichuan Basin, and the paleo-topography plays a leading role, thus affecting the distribution of sand bodies.
