Focal cortical dysplasia(FCD)is one of the common causes of drug-resistant epilepsy.Surgical resection of epileptogenic zone is currently the most effective treatment for drug-resistant epilepsy caused by FCD.Imaging examination is a common method for the diagnosis of FCD.Preoperative detection and accurate location of the lesions are crucial for determining the surgical plan and postoperative outcomes of the patients. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, the hardware and software facilities related to imaging examination,as well as post-processing technology are becoming more and more advanced, which can detect epileptogenic focus earlier and more accurately, which is of great significance to guide the determination of the best surgical plan to pursue postoperative seizure free and less neuropsychological damage. Therefore,in this paper, related imaging studies on improving the detection rate of FCD in recent years were reviewed,in order to provide more detailed reference for clinicians when choosing preoperative evaluation methods.
