Clinical Efficacy of Dicang Through Jiache Acupuncture Therapy in Treating Peripheral Facial Paralysis with Deviation of the Mouth
[Objective]To explore the therapeutic effect of Dicang through Jiache acupuncture therapy on patients with peripheral facial paralysis and deviation of the mouth.[Methods]Sixty patients with peripheral fa-cial paralysis and mouth deviation treated in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups, with 30 pa-tients in each. The observation group received Dicang through Jiache acupuncture, while the control group re-ceived conventional acupuncture. The therapeutic effects,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome scores, and quality of life(SF-36)scores were compared between the groups before and after treatment.[Re-sults]The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 93.33%(28/30),which was signifi-cantly higher than the 73.33%(22/30)in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of TCM syndrome scores and SF-36 scores before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in both groups were lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the SF-36 scores in both groups were higher than before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the con-trol group(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Dicang through Jiache acupuncture therapy for peripheral facial paralysis is more effective than conventional acupuncture. It can promote rapid symptom disappearance, effectively im-prove the condition, and enhance the quality of life of patients.
