The Predictive Value of Carbon Dioxide Ventilation Equivalent Intercept,C3a,and Inflammatory Factor Levels for the Risk of Disease Exacerbation in COPD Patients
[Objective]To explore the predictive value of carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept,C3a,and in-flammatory factor levels on the risk of disease exacerbation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).[Methods]A total of 100 patients diagnosed with COPD for the first time in our hospital from February 2020 to February 2023 were selected and followed up for 1 year.COPD patients were divided into two groups based on the number of disease exacerbations:recombinant group(disease exacerbation≥ 2 times/year,n=65)and stable group(disease exacerbation<2 times/year,n=35).The carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept,C3a level, inflammatory factors[interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and C-reactive protein(CRP)]levels were compared between the two groups. The predictive value of carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept,C3a,and inflammatory factor levels on the risk of exacerbation of COPD was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves and logistic regression.[Results]The proportion of smoking, carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept, and levels of IL-6,TNF-α,and CRP in the control group were all higher than those in the stable group, while serum C3a levels were lower than those in the stable group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The ROC curve analysis results showed that the area under the curve(AUC)for carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept,C3a,IL-6,TNF-α,CRP,and combined prediction of the risk of exacerbation of COPD were 0.786,0.746,0.851,0.848,0.833,and 0.975,respectively.The results of the logistic regres-sion model analysis showed that high carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept, low serum C3a levels, and high levels of inflammatory factors were independent risk factors for exacerbation of COPD(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent intercept, serum C3a,and inflammatory factor levels have certain predictive value for the risk of exac-erbation of COPD.
