Clinical Efficacy of Phase Controlled Radiofrequency Microneedle Combined with Minocycline for the Treatment of Moderate to Severe Acne
[Objective]To investigate the clinical efficacy of phased radiofrequency microneedling combined with minocycline in the treatment of moderate to severe acne.[Method s]Sixty patients with moderate to severe acne who visited our clinic from July 2022 to December 2023 were randomly divided into the observation group(treated with phased radiofrequency microneedle combined with minocycline)and the control group(treated with intense pulsed light combined with minocycline)using a random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The observation group was treated with phase controlled radiofrequency microneedle combined with minocycline, while the control group was treated with intense pulsed light combined with minocycline. Both groups received single treatment. We compared the scores of the Global Acne Grading System(GAGS)and the conditions of erythema, pores, and amethyst between two groups before treatment,1 month after treatment, and 3 months after treatment. We also compared the treatment efficacy and incidence of adverse re-actions between the two groups.[Results]One month after treatment, the effective rate of the observation group was 93.33%,which was not significantly different from the control group's 86.67%(P>0.05).After treatment, the GAGS scores of both groups decreased compared to before treatment, and the GAGS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, both groups showed significant improvement in erythema, purple pigment, and pores compared to before treatment(P<0.05);And the improvement of erythema and pores in the observation group was better than that in the con-trol group(P<0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in the percentage of purple matter between the two groups(P>0.05).All patients had no significant adverse reactions.[Conclusion]The com-bination of phase controlled radiofrequency microneedles or intense pulsed light with minocycline is safe and ef-fective in treating moderate to severe acne vulgaris. However, the combination of phase controlled radiofre-quency microneedles and minocycline has a more significant improvement in enlarged pores and fine skin tex-ture.
