The Correlation between EGFR and Ki-67 Expression and the Prognosis of Radical Surgery for Pri-mary Liver Cancer
[Objective]To investigate the relationship between the expression of epidermal growth factor recep-tor(EGFR)and Ki-67 in cancer tissues and the postoperative prognosis of primary liver cancer(HCC).[Methods]A total of 103 HCC patients admitted to the hospital from June 2015 to June 2018 were selected. All patients un-derwent HCC radical surgery and postoperative prophylactic transcatheter arterial chemoembolization, and were followed up for 3 years after surgery. We detected and compared the expression of EGFR and Ki-67 in cancer tis-sues and adjacent tissues, analyzed the relationship between EGFR and Ki-67 expression in cancer tissues and pathological factors, analyzed the factors affecting the prognosis of HCC radical surgery, and analyzed the relation-ship between EGFR and Ki-67 expression in cancer tissues and postoperative prognosis of HCC.[Results]The posi-tive expression rates of EGFR and Ki-67 in cancer tissues were higher than those in adjacent tissues(P<0.05).The positive expression rates of EGFR and Ki-67 in cancer tissues of patients with microvascular tumor thrombus, incomplete tumor capsule, clinical stage Ⅲ,and low differentiation were higher than those of patients without mi-crovascular tumor thrombus, intact tumor capsule, clinical stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ,and moderately to well differentiated pa-tients(P<0.05).Cox regression analysis showed that microvascular tumor thrombus, tumor capsule, clinical stage, differentiation degree,EGFR expression,Ki-67 expression were related factors affecting disease-free sur-vival rate(P<0.05);Tumor capsule, clinical stage, differentiation degree,EGFR expression, and Ki-67 expres-sion are related factors affecting overall survival rate(P<0.05).The disease-free survival rate and overall surviv-al rate of EGFR and Ki-67 negative expression patients were better than those of positive expression patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).[Conclusion]EGFR and Ki-67 are abnormally overex-pressed in cancer tissues of HCC patients.EGFR and Ki-67 expression are associated with the pathology and prog-nosis of HCC patients after surgery, and those with positive expression have a higher risk of poor prognosis.
