Physical and Mental Health Factors in Patients with Dysphagia After Stroke
Objective To investigate the factors affecting physical and mental health of patients with dysphagia after stroke.Methods A total of 120 patients with dysphagia after stroke who were admitted to hospital from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected as the study objects.The stroke specific quality of life scale(SS-QOL)in patients with different clinical data(age,gender,education level,marital status,personality characteristics,living conditions,caregivers,occupational status,stroke duration,degree of neurological impairment,eating pattern,anxiety,medical insurance,swallowing function,family status)were investigated and analyzed.The factors affecting the physical and mental health of patients with post-stroke dysphagia were analyze by multiple linear regression.Results There were significant differences in SS-QOL scores among patients with dysphagia after stroke in different age,education,living conditions,personality characteristics,caregivers,stroke course,eating pattern,occupational status,degree of neurological impairment,swallowing function,medical insurance status,anxiety level and family status(P<0.05).Personality characteristics,eating style,stroke course,swallowing function,degree of neurological impairment,medical insurance,anxiety degree and family status were all related factors to the physical and mental health of patients with dysphagia after stroke(P<0.05).Conclusion The course of stroke,personality characteristics,degree of neurological impairment,eating pattern,anxiety degree,swallowing function,family status,and medical insurance status are all important factors affecting the physical and mental health of patients with dysphagia after stroke.
