Effect of Sural Neurotrophic Vascular Flap Repair in the Treatment of Open Ankle Joint Fractures
Objective To study the efficacy of sural neurotrophic vascular flap repair in the treatment of open ankle fracture complicated with tissue defect and its influence on hemodynamics and appearance satisfaction. Methods A total of 80 patients with ankle joint fractures and tissue defects admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects.Patients were divided into two groups based on different surgical methods, with 40 cases in each group.Group A underwent sural neurovascular flap repair, while group B underwent anterolateral femoral skin flap transplantation. The degree of flap swelling, the level of foot hemodynamics[inside diameter, peak systolic velocity(PSV),end diastolic velocity(EDV)]before and after surgery, the function of foot before and after surgery, satisfaction with appearance and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The swelling of the skin flap in group A was better than that in group B,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with group B,after 3 months of surgery, group A had higher PSV,inner diameter, and EDV indicators, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The foot function score of group A was higher than that of group B at 6 months after surgery(P<0.05).Compared with group B,group A had a higher postoperative appearance satisfaction score at 3 and 6 months(P<0.05).There was no statistically difference in the incidence of complications between group A and group B(P>0.05).Conclusion The repair of open ankle joint fractures complicated with tissue defects using the sural nerve nutrient vascular flap can improve postoperative blood flow velocity and foot function.Patients have high satisfaction with the appearance, and the degree of skin flap swelling is reduced.
