Correlation Analysis of Serum SDC-1 and ZEB1 Expression Levels with Short-Term Prognosis of Patients with HBV-Related Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure
Objective To analyze the relationship between serum levels of syndecan-1(SDC-1)and zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1(ZEB1)and the short-term prognosis of patients with hepatitis B virus-associated acute-on-chronic liver failure(HBV-ACLF).Methods A total of 130 HBV-ACLF patients and 130 chronic hepatitis B(CHB)patients admitted to Puyang People's Hospital from January 2020 to October 2022 were selected, and 130 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum SDC-1 and ZEB1 were compared among three groups.HBV-ACLF patients were followed up for 3 months and divided into survival group(76 cases)and death group(54 cases),the general information and serum SDC-1 and ZEB1 levels of patients with different prognosis were compared. The predictive value of serum SDC-1,ZEB1,and model of end-stage liver disease(MELD)score in the prognosis of HBV-ACLF patients was analyzed, the factors affecting the prognosis of HBV-ACLF patients were analyzed. Results The serum levels of SDC-1 and ZEB1 in the CHB and HBV-ACLF groups were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),while those in the HBV-ACLF group were higher than those in the CHB group(P<0.05).The albumin levels of HBV-ACLF patients in the death group were lower than those in the survival group(P<0.05),and the serum levels of SDC-1,ZEB1,and MELD scores were higher than those in the survival group(P<0.05).The combined prediction of serum SDC-1,ZEB1,and MELD scores for the prognosis of HBV-ACLF patients had a greater area under the curve(AUC)than the individual prediction.MELD score,SDC-1,and ZEB1 were risk factors for death in HBV-ACLF patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of serum SDC-1 and ZEB1 in HBV-ACLF patients are all correlated with short-term prognosis, and the combination of serum SDC-1,ZEB1,and MELD scores has the highest value in predicting short-term prognosis in HBV-ACLF patients.
