Objective To analyze the risk factors of severe pneumonia in children. Methods A total of 413 children with pneumonia admitted to Nanyang Second People's Hospital from July 2021 to January 2023 were taken as the research objects, and the patients were divided into severe pneumonia group(52 cases)and non-severe pneumonia group(361 cases)according to whether they were severe or not.The risk factors of severe pneumonia in children were screened by binary logistic regression analysis. Results By univariate analysis, there was no significant difference between severe pneumonia group and non-severe pneumonia group in gender, birth weight, artificial feeding, premature delivery, asphyxia, congenital airway malformation, rickets, surgical history and brothers and sisters(P>0.05),but there were significant differences in age, malnutrition, low immune function, congenital heart disease, anemia, poor living environment and recurrent respiratory infections(P<0.05).By binary logistic regression analysis,age≤3months,malnutrition,low immune function, congenital heart disease, anemia, poor living environment and repeated respiratory infections are the risk factors for severe pneumonia in children(P<0.05).Conclusion For children under 3 months old, with malnutrition, low immune function, poor living environment, congenital heart disease and anemia, preventive measures and timely treatment are needed to reduce the prevalence of severe pneumonia in children.
