Factors Influencing the Effectiveness of Manual Cleaning of Hospital Equipment/Items and Intervention Measures
Objective To explore the related factors and prevention measures of manual cleaning effect of hospital utensils/articles.Methods A stratified cluster sampling method was used to collect 173 hospital utensils/articles after cleaning from Nanyang Central Hospital.Questionnaire survey and on-site sampling and detection were used to evaluate the quality of manual cleaning and disinfection, and they were divided into qualified group(141 pieces)and unqualified group(32 pieces)according to whether they were qualified.By comparing the two groups of general data, the influencing factors of unqualified manual cleaning of hospital equipment/articles were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression equation. Results In the unqualified group, the proportion of equipment type fine, severe pollution degree, cleaning and disinfection time ≤ 0.5 hour, unqualified final washing water quality, lack of knowledge of cleaning and disinfection personnel was higher than that in the qualified group, and the placement time of contaminated instruments was longer than that in the qualified group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Instrument type fine class, severe pollution degree, cleaning and disinfection time≤0.5 hour, unqualified quality of final washing water, lack of knowledge of cleaning and disinfection personnel, and too long placement time of contaminated instruments were the independent risk factors for unqualified manual cleaning of hospital utensils/articles(P<0.05).Conclusion The poor quality of manual cleaning of hospital utensils/articles may be related to the type of instruments, the degree of contamination, the time of placement of contaminated instruments, the time of cleaning and disinfection, the quality of final washing water, and the lack of relevant knowledge of cleaning and disinfection personnel.
