Effect of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Combined with Umbilical Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Treating Simple Obesity in Children
Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with umbilical application of traditional Chinese medicine in treating simple obesity in children,and the influence on body mass and glucose and lipid metabolism.Methods A total of 80 children with simple obesity admitted to the hospital from October 2019 to October 2022,and divide them into a control group and an observation group according to the random number table method.Both groups of children received routine diet and exercise guidance.The control group(40 cases)received acupuncture and moxibustion treatment,and the observation group(40 cases)received the combined treatment of traditional Chinese medicine umbilical application on the basis of the control group.Curative effect,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,body mass index(BMI),body fat percentage(BFP),body mass,total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein(LDL),high density lipoprotein(HDL),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS)and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The treatment response rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups decreased(P＜0.05),and scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,BMI,BFP,body mass,TC,LDL,FPG and FINS in both groups decreased,and HDL increased(P＜0.05),BMI,FAT,body mass,TC,LDL,FPG and FINS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and HDL was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with navel application of traditional Chinese medicine has a definite therapeutic effect on simple obesity in children,which can effectively reduce the weight of children,positively regulate the level of glucose and lipid metabolism,and has good safety.
