Remedial Methods for Blood Donors with High Alanine Transaminase Results in Initial Screening
Objective Through to screen the alanine transaminase(ALT)of voluntary blood donors, and formulate corresponding remedial measures for blood donors with high ALT screening results before blood donation,so as to solve the problem of blood donor loss caused by abnormal ALT before blood donation caused by physiological factors to a certain extent. Methods All voluntary blood donors from January to June,2022 were screened for ALT by dry biochemical method. The donors with ALT>45 U·L-1 and qualified hepatitis B and hemoglobin preliminary screening were repeated for 3 times, and the average value of the 3 results was taken. If the ALT was still>45 U·L-1,appropriate intervention measures were taken. The qualified rate of blood donation and ALT abandonment rate were compared before and after the intervention. Results The blood donors who passed the primary screening of hepatitis B and hemoglobin were told to rest quietly for 30 minutes if the ALT level was between 45-50 U·L-1.The results showed that after 30 minutes of quiet rest, the lower the ALT detection value in the preliminary screening, the higher the qualified rate of the retest ALT.The qualified rate of the retest ALT was 99.9%in the blood donors who implemented remedial measures. For those who still failed to retest ALT after resting quietly for 30 minutes, they were instructed to eat lightly, avoid drinking alcohol and stay up late. After 5-7 days,1 250 such people participated in the health examination of blood donation, among which 430 people passed the primary screening of ALT,and the passing rate of ALT reexamination after blood donation was 99.7%.Conclusion For the blood donors with unqualified ALT in the initial screening, some blood donors with abnormal ALT can be reduced to normal by implementing the corresponding intervention measures, improving the qualified rate of blood donation and relieving the tension of clinical blood use to a certain extent.
