Myopia Control Effect of Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments Spectacle Lenses
Objective To observe the effect of myopia control in children after wearing defocus incorporated multiple segments(DIMS)spectacle lenses.Methods Retrospective analysis of the medical records of 280 myopia children aged 8-14 who visited the Third Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College from January to December 2021.According to the kinds of spectacle lenses they were wearing,they were divided into DIMS spectacle lenses group(DIMS group)and single vision spectacle lenses group(SV group),with 140 cases in each group.The changes of equivalent spherical diopter and axial length were compared before and after six months using spectacle lenses.Results After 6 months,the equivalent spherical diopter progressions of the DIMS group increased by(0.25±0.27)D,while the SV group increased by(0.41±0.31)D(P＜0.001).After 6 months,the axial length of the DIMS group increased by(0.13±0.29)mm,while the SV group increased by(0.26±0.30)mm(P＜0.001).Compared with those of the SV group,the DIMS group achieved 39％myopia control effect and 50％axial length control effect.Conclusion Compared with the SV spectacles,the DIMS spectacles can achieve the better myopia control effect.
