Clinical Effects on the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis with External Application of Chinese Medicine Combined with Combined Ultrasonic Joint Therapy Instrument
Objective To explore the effect of external application of Chinese medicine combined with combined ultrasonic joint therapy instrument in knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods A total of 99 KOA patients admitted to Anyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects and randomly divided into 3 groups, with 33 cases in each group. The ultrasound group was treated with ultrasonic joint therapy instrument, the Chinese medicine group was treated with external application of Chinese medicine, and the combined group was treated with external application of Chinese medicine and ultrasonic joint therapy instrument.the efficacy of the 3 groups,as well Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC),visual analogue scale(VAS),Lequesne functional algorithm(Lequesne)index score, fibroblast growth factor 2(FGF-2),type Ⅰ collagen C-terminal peptide(CTX-Ⅰ),cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP)and adverse reactions before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of 93.94%(31/33)in the combined group was higher than that of 75.76%(25/33)in the ultrasound group and 72.73%(24/33)in the traditional Chinese medicine group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the ultrasound group and the traditional Chinese medicine group(P>0.05).After 3 courses of treatment,FGF-2 in the combined group was higher than that in the ultrasound group and the traditional Chinese medicine group, and CTX-1,COMP,Lequesne,and WOMAC scores were lower than those in the ultrasound group and the traditional Chinese medicine group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in the ultrasound and traditional Chinese medicine groups(P>0.05).Static and dynamic VAS scores in the combined group<Chinese medicine group<ultrasound group after 3 courses of treatment(P<0.05).There were no adverse reactions in any of the 3 groups during treatment. Conclusion The combination of external application of traditional Chinese medicine and compound ultrasonic joint therapeutic instrument is effective in treating KOA patients, which can effectively regulate bone metabolism indexes, help relieve patients'pain and restore knee joint function.
