Therapeutic Effects of Sanjin Fossil Decoction Assisted Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery in the Treatment of Kidney Stones
Objective To study the clinical efficacy of Sanjin fossil decoction assisted retrograde intrarenal surgery(RIRS)in the treatment of kidney stones and analyze its mechanism of action. Methods A total of 110 patients with kidney stones who received treatment in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine from January 2016 to November 2022 were selected and divided into groups using a random number table method. The control group(55 cases)received RIRS treatment, while the study group(55 cases)received RIRS and Sanjin fossil decoction adjuvant treatment. The calculus clearance rate, renal function[Serum creatinine(SCr),cystatin C(Cys-C),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL)],inflammatory response[tumour necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1 β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP)],quality of life and complications were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, the stone clearance rate of the study group(98.18%)was higher than that of the control group(85.45%)(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment,SCr,Cys-C,BUN,NGAL,TNF-α,IL-1 β,IL-6 and CRP in both groups were significantly decreased, and those in the study group were lower(P<0.05).After 2 months of treatment,WHO quality of life brief scale scores were significantly increased in both groups, and higher in the study group(P<0.05).There were no difference in the incidence between the two groups(7.27%vs 3.64%)(P>0.05).Conclusion Sanjin fossil decoction assisted with RIRS in the treatment of kidney stones has a definite therapeutic effect, which can effectively improve stone clearance rate, promote renal function recovery, improve quality of life, and do not increase complications.
