Clinical Effect of Epidural Nerve Block Combined with Fixed Point Rotation Reduction on the Treatment of Acute Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To observe the clinical effect of epidural nerve block combined with spinal fixed point rotation reduction on the treatment of acute lumbar disc herniation. Methods Ninety patients diagnosed with acute lumbar disc herniation were admitted to the Department of Pain in Kaiyuan Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology, were randomly assigned to 3 groups, the observation group, manipulation group and epidural nerve block group,30 cases in each group.Observation group received epidural nerve block combined with spinal fixed point rotation reduction, manipulation group only received spinal fixed point rotation reduction method, while epidural nerve block group only received epidural nerve block.Visual analogue scale(VAS)and Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)score were recorded before and after treatment to observe the lumbar pain and lumbar function improvement after treatment. Results After treatment, the VAS scores of all three groups of patients decreased, and the VAS scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the manual reduction group and the epidural block group(P<0.05).After treatment, the JOA scores of all three groups of patients improved, and the JOA scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the manual reduction group and the epidural block group(P<0.05).Conclusion Epidural nerve block combined with spinal fixed point rotation reduction could improve the VAS and JOA scores in patients with acute lumbar disc herniation.
