Effect of Ultrasound-Guided Repeated Aspiration and Sclerotherapy with Polidocanol in the Treatment of Thyroid Cysts
Objective To explore the application effect of ultrasound-guided repeated aspiration and sclerotherapy with polidocanol on patients with thyroid cysts. Methods A prospective study was conducted,74 patients with thyroid cysts in Nanyang Central Hospital from June 2021 to June 2022 were selected. They were randomly divided in two groups. The control group(37 cases)received ultrasound guided repeated aspiration and sclerotherapy with anhydrous ethanol, while the observation group(37 cases)received ultrasound guided repeated aspiration and sclerotherapy with polidocanol. The clinical efficacy, cyst volume at different time points, postoperative complications, and adverse reactions were compared in both groups. Results Compared with the control group(75.68%),the total effective rate of the observation group(94.59%)was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The cyst volume in the observation group at 1,3 and 6 months after surgery was smaller than before surgery and smaller than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistical differences in the incidence of postoperative complications between the observation group(10.81%)and the control group(16.22%)(P>0.05).Compared with control group(21.62%),the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group(5.41%)was lower(P<0.05).Conclusion Repeated suction and sclerotherapy with polidocanol under ultrasound guidance is effective in the treatment of thyroid cysts,as it can reduce cyst volume, and have higher safety.
