Effect of Lacoxamide Combined with Hyperbaric Oxygen in Patients with Viral Encephalitis Complicated with Epilepsy
Objective To study the efficacy of lacoxamide combined with hyperbaric oxygen in patients with viral encephalitis(VE)complicated with epilepsy, and the effects on nervous function and immune function. Methods Ninety-two cases of VE patients with epilepsy admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as research objects.According to the treatment plan, the patients were divided into the reference group and the experimental group,46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with hyperbaric oxygen, and the experimental group was treated with lacoxamine combined with hyperbaric oxygen.Clinical efficacy, improvement time of clinical symptoms, immune function indexes(CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+),serum neural function indexes[neuron-specific enolase(NSE),central nervous specific protein S100β,myelin basic protein(MBP),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)],serum interleukin(IL-6,IL-1β),the regulated upon activation normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES),and eosinophil chemokines(Eotaxin)before and after treatment of two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group(97.83%)was higher than that of the control group(82.61%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The recovery time of body temperature, disappearance of convulsion, disappearance of meningeal stimulation and recovery of consciousness in the experimental group were shorter than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the levels of CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+were higher in the experimental group after treatment, and the levels of CD8+were lower, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the serum levels of NSE,S100β and MBP in the experimental group were decreased after treatment, while the level of BDNF was increased, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, serum levels of IL-6,IL-1 β,RANTES and Eotaxin in the two groups were decreased after treatment, the experimental group was lower, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Lacoxamine combined with hyperbaric oxygen is effective in VE patients with epilepsy. It can improve clinical symptoms, reduce inflammatory response and nerve damage, improve immune function, and promote the recovery of the disease.
